Investing in Transportation Infrastructure

On behalf of Central New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District, Rep. Holt has requested funding for the following projects in the Fiscal Year 2010 surface transportation authorization bill:

Ewing – $530,400 improvements to Wilburtha Road from State Highway 29 (River Road) to Mercer County Route 634 (West Upper Ferry Road).

Ewing – $312,393 for improvements to Mountain View Road.

Holmdel – $12,000,000 for the replacement of the NJ TRANSIT Railroad Bridge over Laurel Avenue.

Hopewell Township – $3,800,000 for the construction of Denow Road.

Lawrence – $3,200,000 for the design, engineering and construction of a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over Interstate 95 (located at mile post 6.6 +/-) connecting the two existing portions of the Johnson Trolley Line Trail.

Lincroft – $200,000 for improvements to the Brookdale Community College transit bus stop.

Manalapan – $4,400,000 for land acquisition and construction of the expansion of the Route 9 Commuter Lot.

Manalapan – $562,460 to install stoplights at the intersection of Gordons Corner Road and Gordons Center/Yorktown Shopping Center access drives, and to rehabilitate Gordons Corner Road from limit of phase one near Pease Road to Manor Drive

Marlboro – $720,000 for roadway and drainage improvements to Gordons Corner Road.

Marlboro – $400,000 for roadway and drainage improvements to Wyncrest Road.

Middlesex County – $82,640,000 for planning and construction of the Finnegan's Lane - US Route 1 Connector Road to the Transit Village and US Route 130

Middlesex County – $80,000,000 for intersection improvements to the intersection of Route 1 and Route 18.

Middlesex County – $40,000,000 for improvements to intersections along Route 1.

Middlesex County – $8,000,000 for signage, signal and crossing system modernization throughout the county.

Milltown – $880,000 for pedestrian and bicycle improvements to the area surrounding Joyce Kilmer School.

Milltown – $520,000 for pedestrian and bicycle improvements to the Main Street area.

Monmouth County – $24,500,000 for the construction of the Oceanic Bridge (S-31) Project.

Monroe Township – $600,000 for the construction and design of a Park and Ride facility off of Applegarth Road.

New Jersey – $24,000,000 for NJ TRANSIT to purchase high capacity vehicles and construct park and ride facilities along the Route 1 corridor.

New Jersey – $1,600,000 to research, develop and deploy advanced monitoring technologies that will enable the state to collect data on volumes, patterns, and weights of large trucks more efficiently, and to assess their effect on the infrastructure.

Plainsboro – $2,000,000 for reconstruction and pedestrian improvements to Cranbury Neck Road.

Somerset County – $3,200,000 for preliminary engineering and design work for the restoration of passenger service on the NJ TRANSIT West Trenton Line.

South Brunswick – $4,000,000 for the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle overpass over Route 1 between Ridge Road and Raymond Road.

Trenton – $106,045,000 for the Route 29 Conversion Project.

Trenton – $480,000 for the construction, redevelopment, and rehabilitation of the roadway surrounding the Mercer County Criminal Courthouse.

West Windsor – $16,000,000 for the construction of a parking garage at the Princeton Junction train station.

West Windsor – $624,000 for right of way acquisition and construction of a left-turn lane, and installation of new signalization at the US Route 1 - Harrison St. Intersection.
