Rush Holt (111th Congress)H.R. 3487 H.R. 3273 Requires the Federal Aviation Administration to implement recommendations by the National Transportation Safety Board that allow for random, unannounced, on-site safety inspections of regional air carriers; new rules to address pilot fatigue; carriers to have greater access to information about pilot practical test failures; greater oversight of pilot training schools; and the establishment of a national standard relative to the minimum number of flight hours required for commercial aircraft pilots. H.R. 3152 Ensures that low-income beneficiaries have improved access to prescription drugs under the Medicare and Medicaid programs. H.R. 2983 Requires the videotaping of strategic intelligence interrogations of persons in the custody of or under the effective control of the Department of Defense. These records would be kept at the appropriate level of classification, and would be available to intelligence personnel who could examine them for any potential intelligence benefit. H.R. 2894 Creates a national standard of voting to help ensure that every vote is recorded and counted as intended. The bill would require paper ballot voting systems accompanied by accessible ballot marking devices and require routine random audits of electronic voting tallies. H.R. 2777 H.R. 2725 H.R. 2368 Authorizes and expands the WaterSense program to encourage the manufacture and sale of water-efficient consumer products. WaterSense evaluates and labels high-performance water efficient products and allows consumers to easily identify them on the shelf. H.R. 2082 Requires States to accept absentee ballots of overseas military and civilian voters which are submitted by the voter to a provider of express mail services not later than the day before the date of the election involved for transmission to the appropriate State election official, and requires the Secretary of Defense to reimburse overseas military voters for the costs of using a provider of express mail services to transmit the ballot to the official, and for other purposes. H.R. 2081 Creates a grant program for schools to partner with the National Park System for learning in history, civics, math, and science. H.R. 2001 Helps raise funds to preserve at-risk battlefields of Revolutionary War and War of 1812. H.R 2000 H.R. 1694 (passed House on April 22, 2009) Establishes a federal grant program specifically for preserving and protecting battle sites associated with the American Revolution and the War of 1812. H.R. 1248 Establishes a Congressional commission to investigate the 2001 anthrax attacks and the federal government’s response to and investigation of the attacks. The bipartisan commission would make recommendations to the President and Congress on how the country can best prevent and respond to any future bioterrorism attack. H.R. 579 Helps schools implement energy saving measures to reduce their energy costs and provides schools with federal funding to make energy efficient upgrades. H.R. 146 Establishes a federal grant program specifically for preserving and protecting battle sites associated with the American Revolution and the War of 1812. H.R. 145 Provides grants to states to establish or improve workforce training programs on the Internet and makes job training more accessible and convenient for prospective workers. H.CON.RES. 143 H.RES.226 (passed by the House on March 11, 2009) Recognizing the plight of the Tibetan people on the 50th anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama being forced into exile and calling for a sustained multilateral effort to bring about a durable and peaceful solution to the Tibet issue. |
