The $477,000 for the Fair Haven River Road Streetscape West project will link two economic districts in the Borough by replacing failing sidewalks without handicap accessibility with sidewalks and crosswalks that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as installing pedestrian scale lighting along County Road 10, the main thoroughfare through the Borough.

The $917,000 in funding for Hopewell will benefit an improvements plan to provide an attractive, pedestrian friendly zone along the central business district and gateway area and to provide traffic calming. The funding will be used to extend from the new curb to the building facades or landscaped areas in front of the buildings.  The improvements will include the removal of existing concrete sidewalks and concrete curbs along Broad Street; replacement of existing sidewalk materials with pavers, redbrick and concrete; installation of public sidewalk curb ramps with delineations; planting of new street trees with granite cobbles at the base of the trees; installation of ornamental street lighting lamp fixtures; landscaping planter; installation of granite hitching posts along the curb line; and adding trash receptacles and street benches.  Welcome signs will be added at the east and west gateways to the Borough.
