HOLT STATEMENT COMMEMORATING EIGHTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 9/11 ATTACKS

(Washington, D.C.) – Rep. Rush Holt (NJ-12) issued the following statement today on the eighth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
“There are no words that I or any of us can say that will take away the pain and grief, still real now as it was then, of those who lost family members and friends on 9/11. Hundreds of families from my 12th Congressional District lost ones they hold dear. We remember them as fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, friends and loved ones. We remember how they lived - with kindness, with good humor, with warmth, and ultimately, with bravery.
“While today is a day of remembrance, it is also a day of resolve as we owe everyone touched by the September 11 attacks what we promised them: to do all we can to protect the security of our nation and bring to justice the perpetrators of the attacks. Eight years ago, we were united in this purpose. In that spirit of unity, let us continue in to fulfill this promise today.”
