HOLT STATEMENT ON INTRODUCTION OF HOUSE HEALTH CARE BILL

(Washington, D.C.) – Rep. Rush Holt (NJ-12) today issued this statement following the introduction of H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act.
“We are the closest we have been in a century to passing health reform that raises the standards for coverage and includes everyone. The bill introduced this week follows years of debate and countless hours of deliberations by three House committees. The legislation would provide millions of Americans with coverage they don't have, provide significant consumer protections to the hundreds of millions of Americans with private insurance, and provide improvements to Medicare by closing the prescription drug doughnut hole and promoting prevention and wellness. By passing this legislation we finally will address the problems of rising costs that devastate our families and our economy.”
